密度處理對文蛤生長之影響

  本實意驗將殼長約15mm之文蛤以六種密度處理: 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 clams/m^2, 作連續六個月之生長記錄。記錄項目包括 :殼長, 殼寬, 殼高以及殼重。文蛤在高密度處理下殼高相對成長速率 較殼長與殼寬緩慢, 高密度下文蛤型態之變化可能是平面之競爭所造成 ,不同密度處理間文蛤殼長與殼重差異顯著 , 以最高密度組成長最快, 表示高密度下文蛤間並沒有競爭食物 , 實驗室進行攝食率的實驗中發現 , 集中放置的文蛤有較高之攝食率, 若將池中高密度組之文蛤視為集中分布 , 則高密度處理下之文蛤成長較快可能是由攝食率較高所造 成。


Influence of density treatments on the growth of hard clam

  The shell weight, shell length, shell width, and shell height of marked hard clam(Meretrix lusoria) were monitored in six density treatments: 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 clams/m^2 from July 1993 to January 1994, to compare the effect of density on growth. No evidence of competition was found in this suspension-feeding bivalve The ratio between length and width of shell in high density treatments is smaller than in low density teatments. Besides, growth rate in terms of shell length and shell weight was significantly higher in high density treatments. Since higher ingestion rate was found in treatment with higher level of aggregation in labortary, it is suggested that the higher growth rate in high density treatments of this experiment was actually caused by high level of aggregation.
